THE PROPOSED PAN ISLAND LINK 1 HIGHWAY PROJECT 
The 19.5 km long PIL1 Highway is a dual 3-lane non-tolled highway and consists of viaduct
sections (7.6 km), tunnel sections (10.1 km) and an embankment road section (1.8 km). Six
interchanges (IC) have been proposed at key locations along the Highway viz. the LCE IC,
Tun Awang IC, Relau IC, Paya Terubong IC, Utama IC and the Gurney IC (Figure 4.1)

The Project is expected to commence in Early 2018 after all regulatory approvals have been
obtained. It is scheduled for completion in End 2023 / Early 2024 over a construction
period of 60 months.
